NASHVILLE, March 8, 2018 - Today the state's oldest and largest pro-life organization announced its enthusiastic endorsement of pro-life candidate Shane Reeves for state Senate District 14. "Tennessee Right to Life is grateful for the pro-life leadership Shane Reeves has demonstrated on behalf of Tennessee's unborn children and abortion-vulnerable mothers," said Brian Harris, President of Tennessee Right to Life.
"His support for programs that aid pregnant women and his advocacy for public policies that affirm human life demonstrate Shane's sincere belief in the dignity and value of every person," said Harris.
In contrast, Reeve's Democratic opponent, Gayle Jordan, has pledged her "relentless" support for abortion. "I will relentlessly support and defend the protected Constitutional right of a woman to self determination," Jordan states on her campaign website regarding abortion.
Tennessee Right to Life Board member Katy Brown of Bell Buckle underscored the organization's support for Reeves. "We are so fortunate to have a candidate whose actions mirror his words, especially on the critical matter of protecting unborn children from abortion," Brown said. "Tennessee Right to Life urges every voter to go to the polls on Tuesday to speak for those who have no other voice."
Election Day is Tuesday, March 13 and Senate District 14 includes eastern Rutherford County and all of Bedford, Lincoln, Marshall, and Moore counties.
