Tennessee Right to Life PAC Rescinds Neutral Position in State House Race; Enthusiastically Endorses Mark Cochran

Tennessee Right to Life, the state's oldest and largest pro-life organization, expresses public regret that its neutral position in the August 4 Republican primary for state House district 23 has been misrepresented by one of the candidates. Unfortunately, Trey Winder has wrongly claimed a Right to Life endorsement although no such endorsement was awarded. This misinformation has been conveyed to voters by campaign mail, social media, and print advertising.

Tennessee Right to Life asked Mr. Winder on July 25 to release a public statement to correct the record and make clear that no such endorsement was issued. The Winder campaign has so far declined to do so.

As a result, Tennessee Right to Life Political Action Committee is forced to reassess and rescind our original position of neutrality.

Today Tennessee Right to Life Political Action Committee announces its full endorsement of Mark Cochran for state House 23. We consider the campaign's unwillingness to correct the misinformation to be disqualifying for Mr. Winder.

Tennessee Right to Life Political Action Committee urges every concerned pro-life voter to cast election day votes in support of Mr. Cochran in order to assure that a sincere and committed pro-life advocate represents District 23 in the General Assembly.
