Group cites successful efforts to re-direct tax dollars away from Planned Parenthood
Nashville, July 13, 2016--The state's oldest and largest pro-life organization reaffirmed its support for pro-life state Representative Charles Sargent calling him an effective partner in efforts to protect human life.
"Tennessee is one of the only states having been able to successfully withhold tax dollars from Planned Parenthood," said Brian Harris, president of Tennessee Right to Life. "We are grateful for the political will and administrative acumen of pro-life leaders such as Charles Sargent which has resulted in denying tax-payer funding to the abortion industry."
"In every instance, state Representative Charles Sargent has voted with Tennessee Right to Life to re-direct public funds away from Planned Parenthood's abortion facilities in Tennessee. Even more importantly, as chairman of the House Finance Committee, Sargent exercises careful oversight to ensure that Tennesseans are not forced to fund Planned Parenthood or any other abortion entity."
